HOT AND DRY ON THE 4TH THEN A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND T'STMS..
Friday was mostly sunny and hot with highs ranging anywhere from 90 to 95 degrees. High pressure centered over northern Tennessee should produce another pleasant night. With mostly clear skies, lows Saturday are forecast to dip into the mid to upper 60's. The dome of high pressure will move eastward on the 4th bringing our winds around to a more southerly direction. This will increase the moisture content in the airmass making the mid 90 degree heat feel even warmer.
On Sunday an area of low pressure will drag a frontal boundry into the deep south. With a hot and humid airmass already in place, the front should provide enough lifting to set off scattered strong thunderstorms. A few of the storms may reach severe limits, especially during the afternoon and evening. Any precipitation should begin to taper off Monday as drier air filters in from the north.
